Bengal produced a galaxy of many great heroines. Rani Rashmoni , blessed with the deep spiritual affection of the Supreme Lord Sri Sri Ramkrishna deva was one of them. Everybody knows the story of her generous mind .It was a time when Rani Rashmoni,
Mathurbabu, his ancestors had come at Dakshineswar would have spent this garden attached cottage called Kuthibari adjacent to the Temple. Sri Sri Ramakrishna Dev had been living in the western room of the cottage during over sixteen years. Form the roof of this house he would impress the devotees and culture of religious movement in Bengal. In this historical Kuthibari , the “Prajnatirtha Library” was established as a wing of “Lokomata Rani Rashmoni Foundation” on December 2009.Since then this library has been serving towards the users with its valuable resources..

LIBRARY COLLECTIONS |
This library comprises of more than 7000 books in Bengali, English and Hindi languages, many periodicals together with a few rare books covering more or less every subjects with emphasis on philosophy , religion , and social sciences . Besides these some career guidance books are also there in the library. |

11.30a.m.-8p.m. (Except Wednesday) |
MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA: |
Willing persons should collect the Membership form from the Library between 11.30a.m. to 7.30 p.m.(except Wednesday) and submit there after properly filling up with photocopy of voter ID card/PAN card / Ration Card/ Driving License and two stamp sized photographs. Monthly subscription is Rs.20/-and Rs.200/- will be kept for caution deposit. |
PRIVILEGES TO THE MEMBERS: |
Member can borrow only 1 book at a time for ten days . At the time of issuing, member should produce his / her membership card to the Library. Without producing this card he/she is not allowed to borrow any book from this library
